Peter takes explorers from all over the world on once in a lifetime climbs through harsh conditions to reach the highest point on Earth: Mount Kilimanjaro.
The Kilimanjaro Climbing Company is an all-inclusive mountain outfitter operating from Tanzania with all-inclusive guides, equipment and training.
I helped Peter by designing a brand identity for the Kilimanjaro Climbing Company to stand out against a number of competitors operating on Kilimanjaro.
I also designed a company brochure to advertise the benefits of the KCC over their competitors.
I later worked with Peter again for the charity arm of KCC. Learn more about the Kilimanjaro Mountain Trust.
I worked closely with Peter and the Kilimanjaro Climbing Company to create a logo that spoke clearly of Mount Kilimanjaro but also conveyed the harsh extremes and raw excitement of climbing trips on Mount Kilimanjaro.
These trips were once in a lifetime climbs through the most extreme conditions.
I used solid geometry, and took imagery inspired by the elements to communicate this in the company logo and also throughout the branding, typography and graphics.
I also designed a promotional brochure advertising the Kilimanjaro Climbing Company’s services and what sets them apart from their competitors on the mountain.
My design of the brochure drew inspiration from the elements of wind, snow and ice.
I used basic geometric triangles to create stylized mountainscapes, snowdrifts and ice.
The brochure had to show the harsh landscapes of all of KCC’s services and trips, as well as route’s and a brief overview of the company.
To create visual interest among heavy sections of text I used high-quality photography in ‘shard’ frames overlaid with stylized snow and wind in geometric shapes.
