The Brief

Living With Bariatrics is a personal brand led by a passionate bariatric coach who shares her journey to help others navigate life after weight loss surgery.
With a growing audience, she needed a website for online membership that felt both professional and deeply personalβ€”one that builds trust, shares her story, and encourages others to take positive steps in their own recovery.

We designed and developed a website that balances empathy with clarity. The brand voice remains authentic and approachable, while the layout emphasizes ease of navigation, mobile responsiveness, and clear calls-to-action for blog reading and email sign-ups. Every elementβ€”from the colors to the typographyβ€”was chosen to reflect the founder’s supportive tone and lived experience.

The biggest challenge was crafting a site that didn’t feel overly clinical, but still provided value-driven information. By focusing on clean design, reader-friendly content structure, and strategic opt-in placements, we delivered a platform that resonates with the audience and helps the coach grow her impact and community online.

Design Hero created a new brand for “Living with Bariatrics”. We had to tackle the difficult subject of real struggles from dealing with weight problems, but in a way that didn’t alienate the audience.
We broke difficult topics into a bright and optimistic brand which doesn’t beat around the bush;

Mel shares her 20+ years of experience following surgery with her community.
She offers online webinars, podcasts, blogs and vlogs to help people overcome challenges and hurdles, allay their fears, answer their questions and by using a straight talking no nonsense but sensitive approach.
The new brand design for an online community had to reflect her drive to help people to achieve their weight loss goals and more importantly keep their weight off long term.

Although the approach was no-nonsense, it also had to be sensitive and respectful.
