James runs Dashfixer, a garage in Glasgow offering vehicle diagnostics products, diagnostics training and vehicle repairs.
Their product, the “Dashcoder Pro”, a powerful diagnostics tool, is sought across the UK to fix electrical and mechanical failures on all types of cars and vehicles.
The website wasn’t mobile-friendly, didn’t advertise their services online in Glasgow, and the website wasn’t gathering any leads.
Time for Design Hero to step in, diagnose the problem and fix the Dashfixer brand.
As well as web designers in Glasgow, James was also looking for a new logo to help him stand out in Glasgow.
James had noticed many of the logos for car mechanics and other motoring businesses in Glasgow were quite dry, and of poor quality and asked Design Hero to design a new logo for his motoring business that would help set him apart from the comepetiton.
We quickly explained the difference between a logo and a brand and helped Dashfixer to establish a new brand that was more user friendly and approachable than his competition.
As opposed to opting for the obvious car icon, we designed a more personal brand, using a cartoon character to help the customer establish a connection to the brand.
The new logo helps connect Dashfixer in Glasgow to their customers, giving the customer a friendly face to interact with online. Even in cartoon form this helps the brand appear more approachable to customers who are often daunted by the technical information of vehicle diagnostics.
The brand colours were established as a deep blue for professionalism and knowledge, contrasted with bright friendly oranges. We also designed a bespoke set of icons for each service that Dashfixer offers in Glasgow.
The new website features graphic design and promotional materials to help promote sales of their Dashcoder Pro product.
Dashfixer had an existing website but he felt it was messy, confusing and outdated, with all the business information on one single page full of text. There was no brand in place and the business wasn’t being represented well online.
The issues with the previous site were twofold:
Lack of structure and confusing content.
The new website design is created around the new automotive brand designed for Dashfixer, with bright vibrant orange of the Dashcoder standing out against deep blue backgrounds with minimal decoration to avoid confusing the user, and clearly defined content so the user can jump to the relevant service quickly.
The new Dashfixer website is clean, and uncluttered with high contrast blue and orange colourscheme to help the user find the information they need quickly and concisely. The new logo gives the website a friendly, approachable character for users to latch onto.
The new website is fully mobile responsive, with a full page dedicated to their flagship product; the Dashcoder pro page highlights the product features and benefits with a sales funnel page leading to prices and a call to action
The old website didn’t highlight the other services Dashfixer offer, so the new website for this Glasgow business features a page for each service, with bespoke icons to aid with user navigation, and enough content to help them rank with SEO
Each service page on the new mobile-friendly website for the motoring business has customer testimonials and features the benefits of Dashfixer’s services.
A new pricing page helps the user come to a sales decisions, with clear call to actions and a sticky contact button throughout the site so the customer can reach Dashfixer at any time.
The new website features built in contact forms on every page to encourage the user to contact Dashfixer for help.
